Q: "Waiting for changes to be applied"

Alright, i recently upgraded my PC. Running Windows 7 x64. I have not been able to sync properly since I got this up and running. I have the latest itunes, and have an iPhone 4 iOS 5. I even completely uninstalled iTunes, and anything with the name Apple in it from my PC.

I installed itunes again, plugged in my phone, it found the drivers. I open itunes, and click sync. and it just sits at "Waiting for changed to be applied" and thats it. It will not sync at all. This is a WIRED sync. not the wireless one. Can anyone please help! I want to sync my podcasts ofr listening on a daily basis.

iPhone 4, Windows 7, iTunes 10.5

In my case (iPhone 5, OSX 10.8, iOS 6, iTunes 11), I changed iMessage settings during a sync and triggered the problem. (I had changed some other settings within iTunes during sync and never had a problem.)  I forced sync to stop and restarted sync.  Stuck.  I ejected iPhone, replug, and restarted sync.  Stuck.  I even rebooted iPhone.  Guess what happened?  The message recurred in iTunes immediately after I plugged iPhone back in, without asking for sync.  The syncing icon didn't appear on iPhone.  I couldn't bear to remove voice memos - it is insane to lose data on this. (Besides, I can't convince myself what good will deleting voice memo do.)

The last thing I tried got sync to complete: Quit and restart iTunes.

I have just gone through the same problem waiting between the "waiting for changes to be applied" and "waiting for items to copy"

After reading one of the other posts, I went in and unticked tones, then resynced again.

    This worked straight away.

Going back into tones, it appeared to have each tone in there twice.

I have now been able to synce one of each.

    Everything else synced perfectly.

    Good luck

I nearly pulled my hair out with this poxy upgrade. no music at all. wouldn't sync. i did EVERYTHING the lovely people on this feed suggested. I managed to get 9 of my 5000 songs to sync (the most recent) BUT now i have realised that i have to download ALL of my songs through icloud (just by pressing the little cloud button you see next to the track) to get them on my ipod... can i do them all at once... of course not. Apple is evil and takes pleasure in our sodding misery. so i now have to download 5000 songs... SEPERATLEY.. via icloud JUST to get them on my ipod. i will NEVER make the mistake of agreeing to a software upgrade. and i sure as **** won't be doing it with my phone. BE warned.. NEVER take the upgrade unless you have an enormous amount of time on your hands (which i do not). Thanks apple you useless 'siadgbosidhbgvp'.

I had this problem for the past few weeks and just got mine figured out.  I didn't have any Voice Memos so that didn't work for me.   Noticed that I had an APP on my screen that said it was 'waiting'  figured out it was GOOGLE +  App.    I went to the APP screen within Itunes and DELETED the Google+ app and it cleared up immediately.   Figures those Google guys would .........OK I won't go there.   Anyway,  deleting the Google+ app worked great and I don't intend to reinstall it.  Never used it anyway.

    Hope this helps someone else.

I have been trying all the suggestions above and I still can't get past "Waiting for changes to be applied". I don't have any voice memo's due to having an iPod Touch. I closed all the applications which didn't work at all. I turned off the Internet on my iPod and plugged it into the computer because it kept loosing connection with the wifi sync. It's been on "Waiting for changes to be applied" for an hour now! I'm really getting frustrated and I can't get the new CD I got onto my iPod. I would appreciate any help anyone could give me please.

After doing everything everyone has said, and giving up, from replacing Itunes on my Computer, restoring my Iphone, going into the Command Prompt and resetting stuff, to syncing nothing but still freezing so there wasn't a knackered file in the music or photo, shut down all my apps running in the back ground,  to standing on one foot whilst reciting the alphabet backwards, still nothing, useless and rubbish, HOWEVER,

I simply do now what enabler1 suggests and that is Sinc by Wifi.  Go into settings on itunes on your computer and 'allow syncing via wifi', then go into Iphone settings on your Iphone and 'sync with itunes via wifi' It only does it when plugged in to mains and within wifi location so is ideal.  I've just done it, it's as quick as being attached to the computer and IT WORKS!

Seriously.  After being at this since 0430, it's the blasted ringtone sync?

    I tried:

    1. New Cable
    2. Restart iPhone
    3. Restart iTunes
    4. Reboot MacBook
    5. Wifi sync
    6. Turn off Match
    7. Clear warnings
    8. Prevent....from syncinc automatically
    9. Reset Cache

    And it's uncheck Sync Tones.

How hard is that to fix, Apple?  Remember the Mac tagline: "It just works."  Yeah...no, no it doesn't.

Everyone I have a solution (well it worked for me)

After i had to get a new PC iTunes was rejecting sync... However all you have to do is de-authorise and re-authorise the PC and it will work. i hope this works for you

I have been having this issue on and off.  Extremely Frustrating.  Today I removed all my Tones and all the music from my iPhone 5.  I actually went into the music app and deleted everything one by one seeing it was downloaded to my phone.  once I took all of them of i restarted my device, let it sync without them checked, and then added them back to my device and it works fine now.  Hope this helps!

    This worked for me:

Right-click on the (device's) name and choose "Reset warnings"

This has been and continues to be a horrible experience for me.  Going to have to contact Apple Tech somehow or drop by store.  This *****.
