Recognising a saffire 6 USB in lion os x 10.7.2 - help?!!

Hi mac audio people

Just purchased new iMac.

Lion os x 10.7.2 installed.

Installed the focusrite driver that came on disc with the saffire 6 USB interface.

Connected the interface up -

Nothing!

Computer does not seem to recognise it. Tried changing output within system preferences - no option to do so.

Also tried ableton live preferences to no avail.

My novation xiosynth is running fine

Any help with the saffire 6 would be much appreciated

Hey man, i have exactly the same problem i have the same mac, and have the same saffire 6 usb.

Did u get this sorted?? if so let me know,

Im in the proccess of sorting mine out so ill let u know if mine works and how i did it.

Hello dude

I did get mine sorted -

I called focusrite directly who were very helpful.

The driver disc that comes in the box with the saffire is out of date unfortunately.

Go to the focusrite website and download the latest driver (it states for lion os x).

Unzip, install and hey presto! You may need to disconnect and reconnect the saffire after restarting your mac by the way.

Thank goodness, been missing those preamps :)

Hey guys,

seems you both got sorted - I just picked up the machine and am having the same issue. Unfortunately - when I go to the site and find the driver download section for SAFFIRE 6 USB, the latest MAC download is listed as May 2010 - that's definitely pre lion! I must just be daft, can one of you provide the link you used for the newest drivers - I can't understand where I could be going wrong!

I used this link to find the drivers http://beta.focusrite.com/releases/saffire_mix_control/

But still nothing works, can someone help?
