Is upgrading a processor even possible?

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I can't upgrade to Lion because my processor is an Intel Core Duo. Is there such a thing as updating my processor? This is on on iMac 4,1 with an Intel Core Duo, 1.83 GHz with 1 processor and 2 cores. I am not technically inclined--I just copied that info from the About My Mac info. Any help would be appreciated.

No. Sell the old one and buy a new one.

Changing a processor, even where that is possible and I have my doubts about that being the case with the iMac, is not a task for the technically challenged.
