Time Capsule backup failure

I keep getting "Time Machine could not complete the backup. The backup disk image "/Volumes/X's Time Capsule/X's iMac.sparsebundle" could not be accessed (error `1)" I cannot understand what this means, nor find a solution. Grateful for any help.
