Please reinstall iTunes" Error 7 (Windows error 5)

I keep getting an error Message "iTunes is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes" Error 7 (Windows error 5). I have done this several times but can't get rid of it and can't get into my iTunes library. Can someone suggest something please?

Hi there Guys...Im at a loss with this problem too. I've had trouble free ITunes since my first IT7....

except for the odd repair..but never to the extent of this error! How it occurred I just don't know....

I've tried all the uninstall tricks & no help....I'm now considering wiping my laptop and starting again.

My library is held on a separate drive....

How can I save my artwork & playlist data before I wipe my machine???

HELP PLEASE!

In additional, I just found officially "How to Uninstall and Reinstall iTunes" +

1. Remove iTunes and related components from the Control Panel

Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order. Then, restart your computer.

  1. iTunes
  2. QuickTime
  3. Apple Software Update
  4. Apple Mobile Device Support
  5. Bonjour
  6. Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)

Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended effects.

Hope this help.

Snap, this corporation really is both crap and amateurish in its approach to customer care, I've tried everything including buying a professional uninstall package, it simply will not load again and error 7 reinstall bollocks!

This may be the final straw for me as Apple may be going forward in profits but are definitely going backwards in customer care!

agghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

If you are running 64-bit Windows and the above steps haven't helped try installing the version of iTunes that can be downloaded from this support document. iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards)
