Can I change my "normal" synching computer to a different computer with the iPad 2?

I want to use my home computer as my regular synching computer with my iPad. I set up my iPad on my work computer. I have my iPod synching on my home computer too. Can I have both devices use my home computer as their normal synching computers? I get this threatening message (because it is not the normal synching computer) when I try to update to iOS 5 with my iPad on my home computer.
