Q: My apple tv won't recognize my apple id

The solution for me was this:  when you type in your Apple id do not use the ".com" or ".net" instead separately type in each of the letters.

After a wasted hour of nonsense this worked immediately.

I tried typing the ".net" part and that did not work for me.  What did work was disconnecting the Ethernet cable and just connecting through WiFi.  The main problem seemed to be not being able to connecting to the network.  As soon as I did that I was able to connect and home sharing and air play started working.

How do you forward ports?

• tried WIFI
• changing password several times and restarting ATV after setting a new password
• tried setting new region,language (dono why, desperate)
• tried having my brother login using my info on his ATV, did not work
• Updating software
• RESET MY WIFI ROUTER

The problem not being able to access iTunes store on ATV is usually a port problem in your router, I had the same a few days ago, and when I found out how to open the right port on my router the problem was solved. So it's not Apple's fault, it's the ISP providers that deliver routers with closed ports.

I also tried using my wifi.... so no its not a port in the router

i have 5/5 signal strenght

I managed to solve my problem, i started a wifi hotspot using my phone and logged into it on the ATV, it now worked i could login to my itunes account and start watching series and movies.

i then went back into wifi settings looked for my wifi router and logged in. and now that also worked

P.S Apple, how about you solve your ENORMOUSLY BUGGY WARES!

So had I, so I reckon that doesn't matter .... but the port was the problem for me, though. Try hook it up to internet with your cell phone (turn on shared internet and bluetooth) and see what happens. I did that, and all was ok. When I used my wifi again it all worked fine.

Same here, and it's the locked router port that is the problem.

Thank you!! I tried to fix this problem for hours and the only thing that work was this, I was ready to throw the ATV out the window.

For those with the same problem, I tried the same things as Kalenen, but the solution is to create a Hotspot WiFi with your cellphone and connect to iTunes, then connect to your local Wifi again, and problem solve. So easy, but finally fixed.

Yes, same here. So the problem is not on Apple's side, it's a locked port on the router that causes this. You can do the same thing entering your routers software and unlock the port.

There is no option to iTunes from the General menu
