Delete Event Render Files-Delete Project Render Files

I got two tips on a video tutorial last night and one seemed really useful. It said to delete the Event Render Files and the Project Render Files while in Final Cut Pro X for obvious reasons. My question is can I do this on my EHD under Final Cut Events and Final Cut Projects, and if so do I delete the render files called Peaks Data, or Thumbnail Media? OR should I just leave them alone, and do it within Final Cut Pro X only. I'm trying to free up some EHD space, and I realize there are other things I can do too.

Thank you, Tracy

It won't do any harm. As blimp says, the app will re-render what it needs, to run, but you may free up some space.

Depending on the codec you are working with, you can turn off rendering in Preferences - it your footage edits and plays back without rendering on your system, you don't need to render - thus saving disk space.

If you put some effects on a clip and it needs rendering, select it and press Ctrl+R - then just that clip will render (keeping render files to a minimum).
