iPhone 4S "no service" problem

hello all,

Just got my iPhone 4S 18hrs ago and it wen to "no service" like 3 times (so far)!!

  • I have changed carrier setting to manual I can select my network but still "no service"
  • I turned on then off "airplane mode" it goes searching... then "no service"
  • it only work when I restart or reinsert the SIM

Is this common? do I have to worry ?

Appreciate your inputs.

Thanks,

Abdullah

I had the same problem today, once I put the phone on airplane mode then turned it off it showed service again. If this continues I will take it back to the store.

"No Service problem" right in first week of my New iPhone Purchase.

After all try out in settings and sim changes, landed in iStore Services Centre, Now I got replaced with new iPhone 4s Today.

Guess what, now its problem with Camera "iPhone's camera locked and refusing to take snaps". I have restarted/reset the phone number of times no use. Again I have to run to the service centre.... 😟

My doubt is "Do all iPhone 4S have one or the other problems in it???"

Hey there Presy,

There is definitely something wrong with the IPhone 4S. I have...

1) Switched Airplane Mode on and off - Nothing

2) Selected Carriers and selected the Network I am with-Nothing

3) Turning the phone off and On - Great way to waste your time!?!?

4) I went to my Network provider, they checked my SIM with another IPhone 4s - No problem there- so Anyone who goes in to their provider going ballistic it is not that - They did advise to go and Speak to an Apple Shop and go from there.

5) I Phone 4S does not allow you to to Disable the SIM Pin - F±±±±n Great.

Apple, you have the technology to check these blogs. Myself and MILLIONS of others WORLDWIDE have spent big Bucks on your merchandise - SORT IT OUT

So i decided to go back to our service provider, i was planning to have my phone replaced or get a new Micro sim... So i asked for a new micro sim, turned it back on, and it worked for my 4s.. hope you guys will try to buy the real micro sim not the cut ones. just sharing my experience guys.

Hello,

I have the same problem here, but found a way to not have to restar the phone everytime is shows "no service".

Well, when it shows "no service", try to make a call and wait until it fails. After the call fails, the phone will search for service again and will find it!

It just doens't work when phone shows "no simcard" message.

Hope it helps and hope Apple give us a final solution.

I too have had this problem, and i call apple, and they send me a replacement, 3 times !!! ive now contacted apple again and they seem to think the problem lies with my supplier o2, so they are working on a plan to have my mobile account reset or something along those lines.. as this is a joke, i assumed that the 4s would have solved the issue of loss of signal ! i had so many iphone 4 with this problem, i must have sent back 5 phones !

I stongly reccomend every one with this issue to call apple up, and arrange a warranty swap out, maybe then they will see the real deal !

I too had the same problem till I contacted my carrier and they told me to do the following and since then I have had no network issues maybe it will fix the problem just follow the instructions

On your iPhone go to settings>location services>system services>. Make sure call network search, compass calibration setting time zone and status bar icon is ALL in the on position after that go back to your settings and click on general>network and make sure cellular data, voice roaming, and data roaming are switched to on after that you shouldn't have problems with no service or searching for service issues it also helps if you are connected to wifi so it's easier for the iPhone to find the signal and won't have problems
