Nov 24, 2011 9:57 AM in response to userremovedby José Camillo,Hello EDDERGHAM, I´m from Brazil, having the same problem here since the 5.0.1 update. I have a 128k Micro SIM, why do you think the regular 128k SIM hand-cutted will work? Thank you.

Jul 6, 2015 2:58 AM in response to José Camilloby userremoved,Actually i was investigating more about this issue today and went myself to all network gsm providers in my country and what i discovered is that the main cause is behind sim cards wiring techniques. some sim cards are wired in some way that can cause a security conflict on the new 4s ( mainly old 64 k sim cards and some few 128 k sim ) causing the phone to disable the network signal. i dont know if it is done by purpose from apple or not. actually you must change your sim card and give it a try. and actually my problem wasnt fixed completely since my network provider still refusing that its a sim issue and are not planing to deliver new sim cards for the near future, while other operators at my country deliver the new wired 128 k sim and i tested more than 5 sims on my iphone 4s and they worked completely without any issue. im like you completely dissapointed from apples decision and from apples hardware and firmware. hopefully they release a firmware update soon because in the mean time i cant use my 4s and im using a 4 years old nokia n78 that is still working untill now.

Nov 25, 2011 1:41 PM in response to abds2000by marifrances3,iPhone 4 stopped working yesterday with same issue: phone loses service & shows 'searching' literally every 30 seconds, acquires a signal, drops again...... I turned off Cellular Data and the network was fine. Finally realized iCloud backup uses Cellular Data network. I turned off iCloud and turned on Cellular Data, and that seems to have solved the problem.

Nov 25, 2011 1:52 PM in response to marifrances3by marifrances3,never mind... it worked for a bit and now back to No Service/Searching. Only temporary fix is turning off Cellular Data.

Nov 26, 2011 2:26 PM in response to alexanderrochaby José Camillo,Também já havia tentado 2 Micro-SIM.

Nov 26, 2011 2:33 PM in response to José Camilloby pmach,I have tried this here in Brasil. Didn't work, tried again... same problem. I really don't see a solution until TIM upgrades its network or Apple launches 5.0.2 adressing this issue which is not only with TIM Brasil but with many other carriers around the world.

Nov 28, 2011 1:34 AM in response to abds2000by Nickolastan,Actually i had the same problem too. My iPhone 4S kept losing the signal after I installed the latest iOS 5.0.1.
I need to turn off and on my phone every half an hour as the signal will disapppear and the phone showed 'No Service'. I was utterly disappointed with iPhone right now. What's the point of spending so much money to get this pie ce of nonsense?!?!
I have been using the 128kb simcard and i cut it myself just for my iPhone4S. Does anyone know if that doesnt solve the problem, what might be the cause?
Should I get it to Applestore to change another one? But I heard ifyou bring it to them they will only change an ol d one for you, not really a branf new phone. I m so frustrated right now. Any advice?

Nov 28, 2011 2:26 PM in response to abds2000by sandeepfromdoha,hi guys,
i recently bought a new iphone 4s factory unlocked. in order to avoid sim failures and invalid sim errors or No service errors, Each phone has to be unlocked by connecting it to the Itunes.
Kindly follow the below steps to avoid any SIM card conflicts
iPhone FULL Unlock - How it Works:
-Connect your iphone to itunes without any network sim inside and when connected click on the iphones name.
- Click Restore install latest version of iTunes on your Pc or Mac or click check for updates
- Let itunes Backup your phone and then Flash to the Latest Version.
- Now disconnect phone and reconnect after 10 seconds.
- Now Enter another network simcard that's not the same network its locked on to
- Connect phone to iTunes with not accepted (not valid) simcard
- Wait until iTunes detects the phone
- iTunes will display (Congratulations, Your iPhone is now unlocked)
- Phone Unlocked
- just follow the instructions about activating the Iphone.
and iphone is unlocked
NOTE : This is the only FULL LIFE TIME UNLOCK solution for Apple iPhone as the IMEI is registered as UNLOCKED in Apple database.
This solution should be used ONLY THOSE WHO BOUGHT FACTORY UNLOCKED iPHONE 4S.
Your phone will always be unlocked even after each new update of your phone firmware !
All reasons given like bad IMEI series, manufacturing defects etc blah blah are not logical as everything was tested before every sale.
