Feb 7, 2014 10:58 AM in response to filmscopeby RickDD49,This worked perfect after trying many other suggestions. As an FYI, I had to go to program files (x86)/microsoft office/office 14 and right click on the actual executable (outlook.exe) to run as an administrator. Also, don't forget to close outlook and re-open to clear out running as administrator.

Feb 7, 2014 11:35 AM in response to RickDD49by JFGII,Perhaps the key is running as an administrator. I could get it to change and work while I was using Outlook, but it would change back when I re-started. I am not an administrator on my local log-in. I wondered if it was a security problem, but I decided that running as an adminstrator from a different log in probably would not work as it has a different Outlook profile; albeit, I didn't try this. Your idea of going to the program and running as an adminstrator is obvious after the fact, but it didn't occur to me. If your approach resolves the problem for others, it is much easier than changing the registry. Nice going.

Feb 11, 2014 8:49 AM in response to schearnrwuiby JEL888,I thought I'd add my two cents to help clarify a solution. In Outlook 2010 (probably similar steps for other versions, ut the location where you go to find the add-ins is slightly different - see other comments applicable to your version), in addition to
1.) checking if the Add-in COM is checked (File>Options>Add-ins>Manage>Go to the Add-in COM in question and check it>OK), you must also
2.) go to Manage>Desactivated element>Go to the Add-in in question and >Active (it).
Then close Outlook and reopen Outlook. You should see the iCloud Add-in sync icon (perhaps grayed out),
3.) BUT WAIT a few minutes (say if you're on a server at work) and it will reappear all by itself (with Outlook open.)
If it doesn't, do as mentioned in otehr posts, restart Outlook as an administrator and do the above steps again (especially if you didn't see the iCloud Add-in sync icon return after doing the step 1.)
Hope this helps!

Mar 22, 2014 4:34 AM in response to schearnrwuiby Bramson,I think i've found THE one and only solution!!!
Just as many of you i've tried to uninstall en re-install as well as Outlook itself and icloud control panel.
The thing is that you need to watch out what version of office you install, or the 32bit or the 64bit.
That makes a HUGE difference!
I've noticed that if I installed Office it automatically installs the 32bit version, and of course later when i installed icloud control panel it automatically installs the version the same as my windows, in my case 64bit.
So people it is very important that you install the correct bit-version of your outlook in order to make the icloud add-in work in Outlook.
After doing these steps, the "refresh iCloud" add-in/button reappeared en so it syncs again with my iDevices.
Greetings

May 9, 2014 8:57 AM in response to schearnrwuiby Kimberly Shockley,I've thoroughly scoured this thread and have tried each and every suggestion. I even performed the regedit. But, sadly, to no avail.
One thing that happened when I tried to disable the the Outlook Apple Add-In was that Outlook would freeze and then I would have to shut Outlook down. When I went to verify if the Apple Add-In had been disabled, it was not. I tried this about 15 times.
I'm running Windows 8.1
Outlook 365/2013
iCloud worked fine until I renewed my Microsoft Office subscription. I wouldn't think a renewal would have anything to do with it.
Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
KAS

Oct 18, 2015 9:28 AM in response to schearnrwuiby BWWiggs,MY problem has an added twist. The iCloud add-in to Refresh Outlook with / to iCloud.com where my iCloud calendar (my iCloud Primary calendar, same for Contacts and Notes) is missing. It is not in the Add-in list at all and of course the Refresh iCloud button is missing from my Outlook ribbon. All solutions on the issue assume the add-in is present and needs to be selected and made Active. That's easy. Done it many times over the years and updates to software. Now after installing Office 365 / 2015 - Outlook, the add-in does not seem to be anywhere on my PC (Windows 10). I need some help to GET to ADD-IN available in Outlook. Help please! thanks for being here helping each other.

Oct 18, 2015 9:45 AM in response to Jerryfromgbrby BWWiggs,Jerryfrombr, registry changes did you make? Can you post it here or a source on the web containing the registry issues Behring the missing add-in? There is no Add in in my list of Add - ins in Outlook; no a Refresh button - of course. I just installed Oofice 365 (2015), on my Windows 10 PC.
i thank you for taking the time to share this detail.

Oct 26, 2015 11:09 PM in response to BWWiggsby BWWiggs,There is software fix that Apple must do so that iCloud for Windows syncs calendar, contacts, etc with a Windows PC running Outlook 2016. The recent release of iCloud for Windows 5.0 did not do a thing for the problem thousands of us have posted about. If you still have the problem, consider joining some of us in posted about the problem and the mess it has made to the Apple Feedback that may / should escalate the problem to a level that will take notes and take an interest in fixing this. A smart user made some contact at Apple that suggested that using the Feedback messaging may get some work done to solve this problem. Here's my post and there was others better expressed that mine. I think in our own words will have more effect. If you want to post, there is power in numbers, here the link: http://www.apple.com/feedback/icloud.html.
>>> My last post to the Discussion Forum on this problem. says:
I have posted to Apple's Feedback on the matter of iCloud for Windows not working with Outlook 2016. It is a shame that with the outcry under several related questions that all lead back to the failure of Apple to do whatever coding was necessary to make iCloud for Windows (with the iCloud Add-in for Outlook - to refresh the sync across user accounts and calendars and contacts (Tasks and Notes too)) work / sync.
I do encourage others who cannot get the iCloud to work with Outlook 365 - 2016 to write about your problem and the futile efforts you have made attempting to get iCloud to work so you can get on with the real reason and work you need this productivity tools for. Use http://www.apple.com/feedback/icloud.html to post your message to the Feedback (web form) in support that we hope someone is reading. >>>

Nov 4, 2015 6:23 AM in response to schearnrwuiby mikeBMS,Hi
I have just cracked this?
It took a while.
First open Outlook go to Tools on the top and click on this.
Now click on Trust centre.
When the Trust centre opens, in the left window.
Click on Macro Security and highlight "Warnings for signed macros; all unsigned macros are disabled".
Click add-ins in the left window and highlight" icloud" in Disabled Application Add-ins in the right window.
Now tick apply macro security settings to installed add-ins.
Then GO.
Outlook will then warn you that this add-inn may cause issues.
Just accept this we want Icloud to Sync our data.
You will then be asked to OK all the Add-ins one at a time.
Once Outlook has got this over with it will restart with your Icloud button back were it should be and it will Sync your calender again.
best of luck everyone.
Mike
