Verizon iPhone policy question

Well my iPhone 4 has been acting up lately. My speakers don't work and my home button rarely ever works anymore. And I was wondering if Verizon would send me a new one if my phones one year warranty isn't up yet. Because recently one of my friends complained to Verizon about her iPhone and they sent her a new one. But I'm not sure if they'll do the same for me

If the phone is under the one year warranty and the problem is determined to be one that's covered under the warranty, Verizon can order you a replacement. It will be shipped to you. Regular shipment is free and takes about 5 business days. When you get the replacement, you return your old phone in the included mailer. You can order a replacement by going into a Verizon Store or by calling customer service. The number is 800-922-0204.

The advantage to going to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store is that, as I understand it, Apple keeps replacement units on hand so you might be able to get one immediately.
