Q: Unable to use Outlook with iCloud

I am getting an error that iCloud cannot setup,

"setup can't continue because Outlook isn't configured to have default profile. Check your Outlook settings and try again"

Outlook is setup as my default mail client and I believe it is my default profile. What can I check or do to fix this?

Windows 7

I tried your suggestion....and it allowed me to sync my pictures, but Outlook is still getting a message "The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'imap.mail.me.com', Server: 'imap.mail.me.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E"

    Any advice??

After calling support for iCloud....the fellow could not help me at all or give me any answers, my calendar will not load either...very frustrating!!

Yes, iCloud mail Protocol is Imap, not POP3, delete the account and make it again but choose Imap instead of POP3. If Outlook insists on POP3 take the manual setup option and choose Imap.

Thank you for your quick response!!  I tried manually to do what was suggested but I may have input the wrong info when setting up the account.  It is receiving no error messages right now, I hope it is fixed..thanks again!

Hi, I am getting the same message as stated in the OP of this thread.  I am running Windows 8.1 64 bit and Outlook 2013, and have tried / checked all the options listed in the preceding threads, but all to no avail.

I only have one profile setup on Outlook.

I would really appreciate some assistance.
