iMessage not letting me log in.

I have an iPod touch 4g. When i try to log into iMessage, it takes forever then just says "Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again." It has said this every time, on multiple different Wi-Fi networks

iPod touch, iOS 5

I seem to have this problem with both iMessage and Face Time - did you manage to find out the cause of the problem?

Thanks for the time in trying to help me. Face Time and iMessage do not appear in the list of Restrictions, presumably because I haven't yet been able to activate them, and Wi Fi is on and working and Airplane Mode is Off. It seems to be really odd but no matter how often I try I cannot Sign In.

I have rebooted (switch completely off and then on again) both the iPad and my Wi Fi modem but all to no avail.

Dear IVMedic3214,

When I got to work this morning I tried both iMessage and Face Time on the company Wi Fi - and they worked! This afternoon the two programmes are working on my home Wi Fi - I don't know how the problem cured itself but my thanks go to you for your patience yesterday in trying to help me.

Regards,

Nick C.
