No more TV-out or video settings?

Here is my issue: I bought an iPod Touch 4 and it worked GREAT with my tv. Then, for some reason,

the "out to tv" and "tv settings" disappeared from my Settings -- Video on the iPod. I have searched

and searched and searched for an answer to this, but nobody is posting anything. My thought is,

maybe, just maybe, you don't need this setting anymore. Maybe it auto-configures. But the problem

is that it auto-configures to full-screen and not wide-screen, so all of my shows and movies purchased

through iTunes (so, NO, it's not a configuration issue from some free torrent crap) - play wrong and

distorted. I also need to add - when I first got the iPod touch 4 it DID have these settings and tv play

was really great (with just a Belkin cable). However, now all I can do in the video settings section

is this = "start playing where left off" and "closed caption" that's it.

Thanks.

PS - Is it due to running version 5.0 (9A334)?

Wrong. The manual for an iPod with iOS 4.3 included the following in theSettings>Video:

TV Out

Use these settings to control how iPod touch plays videos on your TV.

Turn widescreen on or off: Choose Video and turn Widescreen on or off.

Set TV signal to NTSC or PAL: Choose Video > TV Signal and select NTSC or PAL.

NTSC and PAL are TV broadcast standards. iPod touch displays NTSC 480p/PAL 576p

when attached to a TV using a Component AV Cable, or NTSC 480i/PAL 576i using a

Composite AV Cable. Your TV might use NTSC or PAL, depending on where you bought

it. If you’re not sure which to use, check the documentation that came with your TV.

For more information about using iPod touch to play videos on your TV, see “Watching

Videos on a TV” on page 64.

the iPod touch 4g has never had any TV settings to configure. The cables that Apple sells are self-configurating, no settings, no apps.

You might had a jailbroken ioS on it before, using illegal software on it that enabled such settings.

DON'T ANSWER MY SIMPLE QUESTION WITH TELLING ME I AM WRONG!!!

***? I asked "since the video out disappeared from the ipod touch - how do I configure for the widescreen"

I did NOT ask "am I an idiot and cannot figure out my own iPod"

And two things:

1) YOU ARE WRONG - as per my post - the original ipod touch 4 configuration allowed me to do this

2) YOU ARE NOT HELPFUL - didn't even answer my post

One other thing = pirating my ability to use whatever cords I want is a serious violation of the US antitrust laws - so stop saying that.
