Transfer of Vinyl records to my iMac

I have hundreds of Vinyl records I have collected over the years and I would like to transfer them to my iMac.

Which Turntable is the best and easiest to do this?

When I buy the Turntable does the software come with it?

What software should I buy to do this job?

Will the cables I need to connect up my Turntable and iMac come with the Turntable?

What cables do I need to buy?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.6), Macbook Pro, iPod Touch, iPad

For software, Pure Vinyl has a good reputation.

As far as the hardware is concerned, I doubt you'll get a lot of help here.

You could try the Pro Apps forums - the users of Logic and so on may know a few brands.

Maplin appear to have a few, including one (rather pricey) that includes a CD recorder to convert directly. Not sure that's the best way to go, though.
