Where is the delete key ?

I've just bought a 2011 Macbook Air 13", It's my first apple computer and I'm wondering where the delete key is..

I don't mean the backspace key which deletes previously typed letters or words. I mean the one that can be used to send files to trash once they are selected, exactly like the delete key on a windows keyboard.

Can anyone help?

MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

But what is the delete key on the keyboard, there is no key with any "del" or similar marking except backspace which I've already tried.

Command+Backspace then (backspacing also deletes)

Here's a picture of an MBA keyboard, I can clearly see the 'delete' key at the top right of the keyboard, what does your MBA have instead?

I've tried that but nothing happens 😟

But then you said:

"Thanks noondaywitch 🙂 cmd + backspace is what I wanted, I just wanted a command to send to trash like the delete key does in windows 🙂"

So when did it start working exactly?

Where is the delete key ?
