Jan 11, 2012 1:52 PM in response to sgflyrby LetterAfterZ,SnapBot doesn't currently support video, but I'll pass along these comments to our team.
Sounds like a good feature to add in the next update.

Jan 11, 2012 4:28 PM in response to Naptownzballaby andreromeiros,We have the same problem in Brazil.
Last month in my country, I bought my iPhone 4S-64GB/unlocked.
I found that same error happens, the picture upside down.
The mobile provider, contacted Apple and got the answer:
-All imported consignments are problems with the camera, the repair will be in the next update of the IOS.
The seller said that if not repair, replace the product.
But he warned that many are the same error,

Why can app developers look into it/fix it but Apple can't??

Jan 21, 2012 6:06 PM in response to mfarqwaby harsh_varia,I have a very simple solution that worked extremely well for me.
Google Picasa...
1) Install picasa and go to your folder which contains upside down pictures
2) Click any one picture in your folder and then do a Ctrl+A to select all the pictures in that folder
3) Do a Ctrl+S
I had taken 500 pictures on a recent trip and was pretty upset that some were inverted... worse windows live photo was not able to correct them. Using picasa fixed all the pictures for me. Even better, picasa only updated the pictures that had an orientation issue so the ones without an issue were left untouched.
Don't know if this works on video... but works like a charm on pictures
Until apple fixes this bug my rule of thumb is that... when taking pictures/video the home button should either be on the right (for landscape pictures) or bottom (for portrait).

Jan 28, 2012 5:55 PM in response to Naptownzballaby Dyst,This is a very annoying issue. I should be able to take a picture with my Iphone's volume + button, as advertised, and then see the picture as I took it. I shouldn't have to get 3rd party software to correct this. I had a Motorola Droid before this phone and the camera orientation was never a problem. I'm seriously thinking this may be a dealbreaker for me. I might take the phone back if there is not a simple work around or update around the corner.

Jan 30, 2012 11:47 AM in response to Naptownzballaby LukeRoberts,This is a very anoying bug for such an expensive device!
What were the testers at Apple doing when this feature was added and ready for testing? Sleeping upside down?
Can anybody confim this bug is solved in iOS 5.1?

Feb 2, 2012 2:25 PM in response to Oleksandr Zinenkoby NorCal_Gadget,Well I hate to oversimplfy a fix for this problem (I am a Win7 user and all of my apps/viewers/mail and my recipients viewers show my photos upside down).
With the introduction of using the Volume + button, I take most of my photos in a landscape orientation similar to a regular digital camera. But like most of you they are all upside down.
I simply take photos now with the iPhone oriented with the Vol+ button at the bottom of the phone, not the top as Apple designed and advertised the feature.
All of my photos on the phone are visible in the right orientation.
All of my emailed or text'd photos from the phone come in to recipients in the right orientation.
All of my photos in Windows Office Picture Manager, Adobe Photoshop, Paint, whatever views it..... are correct.
Cheesy? You bet. But this is a stupid issue and very much an Apple viewer compatiblity support problem. Please do not push purist views as it relates to the EXIF spec.
This is a consumer product that needs to perform properly with mainstream applications. Apple is notorious for throwing their customers under the bus in order to make an industry statement that 'we are right, everyone else is wrong'. Case and point = FLASH support. Say no more.
I design software. Good companies test their solutions to ensure they are widely compatible with most mainstream customer applications. Arrogant and spoiled companies would much rather sacrafice their customer experience in order to posture and dictate how other software companies must comply.
This issue can only make Apple look bad. Most find it hard to believe that every other application they use is wrong and Apple is pure and right.
I say fix the problem Apple and show us you listen.

Feb 8, 2012 7:34 PM in response to Naptownzballaby ME2002,I've tested this and the results are inconsistent. Sometimes the photos are right side up and sometimes upside down even when phone is used in a single direction (i.e. landscape with the volume buttons on the lower left). VERY annoying. I'll pursue with the Apple store. Hopefully, this will be fixed.

Feb 9, 2012 11:29 AM in response to Naptownzballaby fbullara,A quick and easy way that I found to get around the problem of my iPhone 4 photos that I posted on my website being displayed sideways or upsidedown when the website is viewed in my iPad 2 is as follows:
1) save the pic on your PC (I happen to use a PC with Windows 7)
2) right-click on the pic and select "Rotate Clockwise"
3) right-click on the pic again and select "Rotate Counterclockwise"
4) repost the pic on the serverThis appears to strip a bunch of hidden data from the photo (you can tell by the resulting reduced file size), including whatever is telling it to rotate. Anyway, it worked for me. Good Luck!

Feb 9, 2012 12:13 PM in response to Naptownzballaby Vincent_From_Florida,APPLE-- ARE YOU LISTENING?
I was one of the original posters on this topic back in October and after almost 4 months, your customers are still talking about work-arounds to an obvious iPhone 4S/iOS 5 bug. Your users should not have to stand on their heads or hold the camera upside down to take right side up photos using the heavily advertised "volume up button" feature. How about acknowledging the bug and getting it fixed in iOS 5.1.

Feb 9, 2012 12:22 PM in response to Vincent_From_Floridaby mleach1,I agree that they need to do something to remedy this. IMO, they should contact MS to work on this together.
However, it's not a bug if it's working as designed.

Feb 10, 2012 11:56 AM in response to mleach1by jcgrumman,Your right, it is not a bug, it's worse than that. Apple intentionally switched to a new orientation method which they should have known would cause problems for a lot of people. I went to the apple store in Albany looking for suggestions and was told by a woman (who said she was THE technician) that she hasn't heard of this problem and that I should update my software. She then went on to say that she couldn't really help me any further because she only uses Macs. She was obnoxious, dismissive, uninterested and seemingly technically incompetent. I've never had a dog in the Apple/pc fight but this experience is changing
that.
Please someone suggest a video/photo software which works properly with the iphone 4s.
james
