Sidebar shortcuts disappear when volume unmounted

I have shortcuts to folders inside disk images on my sidebar.

When I unmount the disk image, the shortcuts in the sidebar disappear. In SL, it used to mount the disk.

Any ideas how I can get the old behaviour back?
