Hi,

I bought my first iphone 4 two months back in India and currently am having the fourth replacement phone due to hardware issues. Now the current one has been confirmed by the service center as a faulty product. what are the options that i have?

Four in two months is extremely bad luck (or you're giving your iPhone a very hard time). One way or another, though, Apple's almost certainly just going to replace the iPhone again. You can try callling Apple customer relations (call the tech support number and ask to speak with a customer relations representative), explain the situation, and ask if there is anything else they can do for you given the high number of failures, particularly in such a short time. What they could do other than another replacement, though, I don't know.

Regards.

to give a hard time to the phones i guess i need to use it for some time 🙂 two replacements were for network issues, one for speaker issue and one for cracked panel all confirmed at the service center as product failures. Isnt there anyway apple can give me an upgraded model or any kind of compensation for the trouble i have gone through? I am really disappointed by the service level of Apple as i feel they just dont care for the customers.

Hi Bejoy,

You said you replaced your iphone.I would like to know how your iphone was replaced.coz,i had a very unsatisfactory experience.

I bought an iPhone 4s 16 gb white from istore here in India few weeks back.It was overheating and I asked them to replace with a new iphone. They did replace it(however the heating issue still persists).but it was not like how they do in other phone brands

like if you buy phones from other brands like nokia etc, what they do for replacement is just they unbox a new box just like the one you bought before and leaving behind the other acessories like charger etc from the new box they take out only the handset and give it to you.

but for in the case of apple iphone, in istore, they said like they have separate handsets for replacements.they unboxed from someother special box that was black in color (not like the original iphone box when you purchase a brand new).

i was not satisfied and asked them if this how they replace iphones and they said yes.

was this how you had your phone repalced?i would like to know it.

Thanks

Roaminggnome,

Have you replaced your iphone?gone thru this process?

I called up apple care yesterday reg this and checked with them abt their replacement procedures.I was told that the original boxes that you buy as a brand new, comes from california but the replacement ones come from HongKong. The reason they said is that replacement handsets are to be made available to the customers very quickly hence they ship it from HongKong.

Moreover, they keep the HongKong ones under observation for a day or so and confirm it works fine before giving it to the customers.

This is the way it works everywhere or jus only in india? And I am very skeptic that if it is as brand new as the original ones we purchase or its kinda refurbished or something.

Service units, retail units?it would be helpful if you explain the difference ?

Thanks

I have always felt the quality of the product in India was low. Maybe refurbished products from other countries. Yes the procedure how you got your replacements are correct. Am no longer using this ****** product iphone and also warning others of not buying this product. After 5 replacements they finally gave a refund for me. I seriously believe the quality of iphone in India is not as good as what you get outside.
