Movie ripping

Is there a way to rip movies to my macbook pro without installing a dvd ripper? I'm new to mac and don't know how to do much- so if you could explain in laymance terms please.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

If you mean movies that you purchased on DVD, then this is illegal.


They are encrypted to stop you from doing this and breaking this encryption is illegal.
