power mac g5 dual 2ghz graphic cards compatibility

good afternoon

i have a power mac g5 dual core 2.0 with 2gb ram , and need if are any compatibility with graphic cards late 2010 ?

Hello, there was 4 models of the G5 2.0, and if really the dual core one it would use a PCIe Video card, but not any modern ones of late.


At the Apple Icon at top left>About this Mac.


Then click on More Info>Hardware and report this upto *but not including the Serial#*...


Hardware Overview:


Machine Name: Power Mac G5 Quad

Machine Model: PowerMac11,2


If it reports PowerMac11,2, then it is PCIe, japamac has a great page here & hopefully will drop in later...

I don't know for sure, but I doubt it, you'd need to Flash it in a PC to Mac Roms, & it is likely not ROM but EFI/Intel only, as well, I think PPC Macs are limited to 512MB VRAM.


As japamac gas on his page, I think a Flashed 7800 GTX 512MB is the best G5 card available, similar to this one...
