Oct 25, 2011 3:51 PM in response to Rocky Vegasby hjlee5,I have not personally had this problem before, but you should definitely stop by the Apple Store or give Apple a call.

Oct 26, 2011 1:57 AM in response to Rocky Vegasby Pzchamp,I have the same problem. I just got the phone and the last two nights I have woke up to the phone only being at 95%. I unplugged it an plugged it back in this morning and went to get ready for work and before I left the house it was at 100%. I will call Apple on my way to work and see what they say. But I am glad that I am not the only one having that problem.

Oct 26, 2011 9:49 AM in response to Rocky Vegasby Rocky Vegas,I called Apple Support last night and they instructed me to do a system restore. With iCloud backup it didn't take long to get back up and running with all settings, apps, folders, etc. in place. Last night I left it on the dock to charge and woke up this morning to a 100% battery. I'll keep you guys posted on whether it continues to work or not.

Oct 26, 2011 10:57 AM in response to Rocky Vegasby Nutes,I am having the same issues. I think it's related to "YAHOO MAIL". Seems like Yahoo mail is not only not running right on my iPhone 4S but also on my Macbook pro. It crashes everytime while using Safari only. Not sure why? Has something to do with the Adobe Flash on the Macbook while using Safari. I removed the flash from my macbook pro and it didn't crash anymore. I did it just to check it out but then reinstalled the flash player. On my iphone 4S it was taking forever to load emails and send emails (which is draining the battery). So I removed my Yahoo account completely from my 4S and now it seems like the battery is doing fine.

Oct 26, 2011 12:57 PM in response to Nutesby Rocky Vegas,I don't have Yahoo Mail on my iPhone. The problem wasn't that the battery life was poor, it was that it wouldn't charge to 100% overnight. If I unplugged the iPhone and plugged back in it would go to 100%. The rest of the day I have very good battery life. At night I still have 40-50% left after moderate to heavy use.

Oct 27, 2011 1:26 AM in response to Rocky Vegasby Pzchamp,So I woke up this moring and it was only at 97%. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and after a few minutes it said 100% but the battery icon still showed the lightning bolt. A few minutes later the battery icon showed the plug. Very strange.

Oct 27, 2011 4:54 AM in response to Rocky Vegasby Rocky Vegas,Second night of charging after the full restore and I woke up to a 93% battery. So I guess I'll call Apple again and see what they suggest.

Oct 27, 2011 5:12 AM in response to AnaMusicby Rocky Vegas,Thanks, but the problem isnt battery life, the problem is not continuing the charge after it reaches 100%. For some reason it stops charging after it hits 100%. If I unplug the phone and then plug it back in it will go to 100%. But it shouldn't take two charges to do this.

Oct 27, 2011 8:58 AM in response to Rocky Vegasby The MDR,I am having the same problems as well. I did the restore, it worked for only one night, then back to 96%. Then last night I let the battery drain until it shutdown, and then it only charged to 92%. I have an appointment with the store tomorrow. I'll update on progress.

Oct 28, 2011 2:08 PM in response to Rocky Vegasby rhymon78,Urghhh, I have this issue as well. A couple of times now I have charged overnight and before unplugging the phone it was at 100% then as soon as I unplugged it, the battery icon goes down to 97% this morning it went down to 99%. I then plugged it back in, and it then goes to 100%.
I was so happy to finally be able to upgrade from my 3gs that I had for 24 months, to the amazing 4s, but have felt totally let down by the unbelievably poor battery life. 200 hours standby time?? so far, I have had 2h 30mins usage, 13h 50min standby and its at 45%. if I was to use it for viewing video, or playing a game on it it would be dead within a couple hours. this is totally unacceptable for a product I paid £200 for and am contracted for 24 months for.... apple better find a solution, because I certainly wont be recommending these phones for now.

Oct 28, 2011 4:20 PM in response to Rocky Vegasby The MDR,I just got back from Apple. The technician ran a diagnostic and found nothing wrong with the battery. He said that it might be a software glitch and could restore the phone for me. BUT he said - since I am within the 30 day period I could just exchange the phone for a new one if I prefer. So, I took advantage and went from 64GB to 32GB, since that's what I wanted in the first place and they were out of stock last week. It was a very effortless process.
However, the bottom line is that they are not really aware of this issue as yet. I will charge tonight and cross my fingers.

Oct 29, 2011 5:57 AM in response to Rocky Vegasby jc1350,I've had the same thing happen with my 4S twice (once each week). It gets to be about 90-something full (not the same percentage), then seems to stop. The lightning bolt changes to the plug icon as if it's fully charged. If I unplug it and plug it back in, it will charge to 100%.

Oct 29, 2011 5:58 AM in response to Rocky Vegasby Pzchamp,So this morning I woke up and it was at 100%. Maybe it just needs to few days to calibrate. I will check again tomorrow to make sure.
