How can I delete the Photostream folder in iOS?

photostream is no real physical folder, but a virtual one. The files itself are not on your device but cached copies from what is in the stream stored which itself the cloud has stored at Apple.

You can't delete it really. Just what you have done is correct - you can reset it and turn off the option, more there is not to manage. After 30 days the virtual folder will vanish then forever.

This is the correct solution...

1. Sign into iCloud account (the one linked to the inactive photostream album)

2. Make sure photostream is turned ON

3. Take a picutre, and wait for it to appear in the Photostream.

4. Go into setting and turn off photostream, deleting all pictures, and getting rid of the photostream album.

No waiting for 30 days now!

well its gone but when i turn it on again they are bk so i think u have to w8 30 days

Albin's question was how to remove the Photostream Album... I think for you want to continue using Photostream but want to delete photos? Then yes... 30 days before they disappear... or you could try filling up your iCloud space with pics... it might bump out the older pics... Never tried tho 🙂

I have tried everything listed above. I have reseted photostream on iCloud.com.

Now I have a Photostream folder with 886 placeholders (gray block written JPG inside) and Photostream not working anymore.

Any clues?

Did you ever figure this out? This is happening to me too...
