I have two rotating arrows at the top of my screen next to the 3G symbol. Does anyone know how to turn this off b/c it is using all of my battery life? This started after the iOS 5 update.

i have simple found the answer.. the 2 arrows means they are syncing your itunes but if what so ever that you by mistaken unplug your phone from you computer while it is syncing those 2 arrows will keep on staying on you screen and it will not stop trying to syncing, it will end up draining your battery even when your not using it. So the best thing you could do is restart your phone. If its still there then its probably syncing through your internet, so you should turn syncing with itunes even with wifi should be turn of on your settings/itunes. Hope this help, to future people reading this hope it helps, because i posted thisOCTish(11:46) NOV(finish typing 12:00 then got distracted click post on 12:41 😁) 2017 and chances are it could happen to you guys since this post was Oct 2011.. Just sayin'

Actually, not having to read Page nth on a new release is why I have been a strong supporter of Apple since SE days (you folks DO rememer the original Mac world...)

And even if you only had an English Lit background, you would know that "now would be a good time" is just short of RTFM, which will get your fired even from Apple.

At first read, I also thought it sounded a bit snide. Who here has read the entire manual before going to the web for a quick search? (Not me, and in fact, I found my answer - to this very question, by reading this post WAY faster than if I had read the manual. What is so wrong with that?)

That is the beauty of having support forums. If it is a bother to answer, without being snide, one is not obligated to do so. And my apologies if he was not being snide... but there maybe a better way to point out the manual, such as "I have included a link to the searchable manual which may be of assistance to you next time you are puzzled by your iPhone's behaviour".

Just my 2¢.
