Sync error????

Ok, so I have an ipod touch 4th gen, and I recently updated it to the new IOS5. I also upated my itunes so everything is updated to the current software available.

My problem is that I am missing some music on my ipod touch, and I know for sure it is in my library, but every time I go to sync my touch with my itunes it goes through the 7 steps and at the very end it cancels on me.

The error message it gives me is that the ipod could not sync because "the sync session failed to finish." Now I've also tried to do the wi-fi sync through my ipod, but the same thing happens, except that after it gets to step 7 "waiting for sync to finish" I get a: "copying 1 of 1: safari safe browsing data" right before it automatically cancels the sync!

The memory used on my ipod is about 3 gigs less than the amount of stuff I have through my itunes, so I know I'm missing more than a few songs on my ipod touch.

I have gone through the process of taking itunes off my computer and putting it back on, etc., so I've been through the usual troubleshooting.

As I'm sure you can tell, this is very frustrating; I've been struggling with it since the 13th of October.

Can anyone help me?

iPod touch, iOS 5
