Find my iphone/ipad not working

I have a wifi ipad2 running ios5. I am unable to get "Find my iphone" to work (either via icloud.com on another machine, or using the app on my ipad. It usually says "No Location Available", and sometimes says "Offline".


Other apps find my location without a problem (find my friends, maps, etc)


Location settings are all on

I am signed in to my icloud account using my apple id

All settings for Find my ipad are switched to on


But, no luck finding my ipad!


I've tried deleting my icloud account, creating a new one, and the same problem continues.


Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Still unable to find my ipad! The only thing I can think of is the email address for my apple id.


When I set up my apple id I used my gmail address (which became my apple id), then after the ios5 update, I set up an me.com address to access icloud (as was required). Now, whichever email address I use as my apple id the situation remains the same (Find my ipad doesn't work).


Does anyone know how I can rectify this?

I am no help, but seem to have the same problem on my 4S. Tried roughly what you did without success. Interestingly, we also have an iPhone 4, an iPad 2, and a mbp on the same iCloud account that all show up fine as available devices in find my iPhone. Don't suppose anyone else has come up with an idea why my 4s (which claims to have it on) isn't showing up?
