disable wifi sync to stop itunes opening

Hi there,

Just upgraded iPhone 3GS to iOS5 and with the new feature of wifi sync itunes is now opening up every 5 min as soon as I walk in the house. This is also causing itunes to lock up if left for a while.

Does anyone know how to disable wifi sync? Under the Device > Summary the checkbox of sync with this iphone over wifi is not ticked, but the iphone general settings say it is.......
