Attachments are being sent with text messages... why?

I don't use the text message feature on my iphone that much but when I have been using it lately, it's somehow sending out an attachment with it. I cannot see the attachment nor am I purposely attaching anything to the text message. In fact, I don't think I've ever sent an attachment via text message at all in the past.

Does anyone know how I can tell what I'm sending to people as an attachment? Would there be a setting for this on my iPhone? I turned off the MMS Messaging feature on my iphone for now until this gets solved.

TIA,
Dale

My wife texted me this morning and said my texts to her Blackberry are coming up with weird looking text and it has 15 attachments added to it. So weird because it's a brand new text message (not carried over from a previous one) and I've never sent an attachment before by text to anyone in the past from my iphone.

I did turn the MMS off after she told me about this, not sure what was sent in terms of an attachment as she cannot open them up.
