I CANNOT FIND THE OPTION "PROFILE" UNDER GENERAL SETTINGS IN MY IPHONE 4 VERSION 4.2.1

What is supposed to be under there that you're looking for?

Ok, first please stop typing in caps as that is considered screaming and makes the text much harder to read Also please explain in detail what is going on again. I (and I am sure many) do not understand what you are asking. What is APN and what profile are you trying to reset? Why does it affect your internet? Is this some third party app?

So, when in doubt, check out the manual (this one is for 4.2 and 4.3: http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iPhone_iOS4_User_Guide.pdf).

This is what I found under the General / Settings section. Not super helpful!

Profiles

This setting appears if you install one or more profiles

So I guess my question is, did you already set up the profile somewhere?? I searched through the manual and didn't see anything super helpful, but since you know specifically what you're looking for, maybe you'll find something I missed.

Oooh, I found this in the manul. I bet this is what you're talking about:

To remove VPN settings installed by a configuration profile, choose Settings >

General > Profile, then select the profile and tap Remove.

But yeah, I'm not familiar with using VPN on the iPhone at all, so unfortunately I won't be much help. Hopefully someone will be! But it seems like the VPN didn't set up the profile properly, maybe?

Oh! Now I know what you mean. Are you talking about a configuration profile installed using the iphone configuration utility? In some cases you cannot remove it and you need to remove through the computer application I believe. Have you tried this?
