Word files (.doc) are supported in the iCloud.

Yes they are., so are docx and all of Microsoft other file-extensions, just no pdfs.

The big reason why many people don't find a upload way in icloud.com is this :

You MUST own the ios5 iwork apps and have them running on your idevice in order to unlock that function in the cloud web-portal. Else you will see advertising only. After all it is designed with ios-syncing in mind. Mac Upload is just a extra feature for that.

So, no idevice, no ios5, not at least one of the three apps = no upload.

Okay Sjazbec;

So let me see if I understand you. In order to upload to iCloud, I need to have one of the iWork IOS5 Apps. Without one of these Apps, I cannot upload to iCloud. Do I have it?

This is **** frustrating because that was the best feature about MoblieMe; being able to upload to MoblieMe and then work on it anywhere.

Thanks for the help.

Please let me know if I have this correct.

I've been using iDisk for a few years to share documents between Macs, but it's a paid subscription $99/year. It came with a .mac email account, but I think that's going away now, replaced by iCloud. iDisk is a mac-based storage system and it has an App now. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mobileme-idisk/id320654497?mt=8

You could try a service like DropBox instead. In the past I didn't use the iDisk very often because it was really slow for moving files.

I asked a question about the iDisk and it looks like that's going away, but you could try one of these services:

The iDisk will disappear, and its contents be erased, when MobileMe terminates at the end of June. iCloud does not provide an equivalent replacement, so you will need to look for a third-party alternative. This page examines some options:
