Pictures are Messed Up

I updated to iOS 5 when it first came out and today I took a picture and then went to go look at it, only to realize that the last 15 or so pictures in my Pictures folder were blurry and pixelated. Also, the last few pictures were grey when I opened them up. I tried restarting my phone and closing and reopening the app and syncing my phone, but none of them fixed it. I am able to get the pictures off of the phone into iPhoto, though, and they look fine. I started to restore my phone, but then my computer froze and I had to shut it down.

I was going to try to email the support group, but they don't have an iPhone support email address. So, I would have had to use the Express Lane, but then my iPhone is not covered in the complimentary free 90 day customer support so I would have to pay for the "single incident". I do not appreciate having to pay to get support for my phone when it was the new update that caused the problem.

Anyways, sorry for ranting. I would greatly appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks!

Ok I am having the same problem. Mine occurred after I turned iCloud off because it was not syncing everything and it took forever to do what it was syncing. I tried sync over wifi option and turned that off as well.

Now when I look in the camera roll the pictures are pixelated, blurry, black or just appear as a white box. I can email the pics and they look fine but not upload them to Facebook.

I also noticed that my iPhone4 no longer shows up in My Computer on Windows 7.

Hello Apple Support anyone?

This worked!

summary:

Download an iphoneexplorer -http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/download-pc.php

go to photodata folder, delete this files,

  • com.apple.photos.caches_metadata.plist
  • Photos.sqlite
  • PhotosAux.sqlite

That's it.

Hi everyone.

I had the exact problems that you're all describing. Pictures getting pixly/blurred, camera app crashing, and at the end I couldn't even open the picture-viewer. I found this thread and was let down, but I continued searching for a tip and was rewarded.

This fix worked like a charm:

It gives you a step by step-solution which was fairly simple to follow. Afterwards, my camera app works again just fine and I have no problems viewing my pictures.

And best of all, no restore or factory restore needed!

Good luck, best wishes from
