Servers EnterpriseWhen you see this happen, you might want to look in the /tmp directory. Look for a file called build_hd_index and note the size. If there, it is likely huge. This is a run away process associated with Apple Remote Desktop.
To stop it, I've simply renamed the process that makes it happen. You can find it:
/System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/Support/buil d_hd_index
Use a command like:
sudo mv /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/Support/bui ld_hd_index /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/Support/bui ld_hd_index_bad
Then reboot the machine.
Hope this helps
