Lion Server not serving up 10.7.2 software update

Question

We&#x27;re running Lion Server 10.7.2. This server is used as a Software Update server for our LAN. Since upgrading to Lion, it has not served up any Lion updates to our clients. I checked my /etc/swupd/swupd.plist file, and even though that other step was supposed to re-create it, I found that this line was missing from the otherCatalogs element:       &lt;string&gt;index-lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog&lt;/string&gt;     And according to some other sites, it is supposed to be in there to get Lion updates. I seem to have this same sort of issue every time we upgrade our Mac OS X Server! But there&#x27;s always enough time in between major updates that I always forget what happened or what we did, and then I have to go through and re-evaluate. But I am now finally seeing the Lion updates actually download....

The intrigue continues... although I now see that the Lion server has downloaded those patches, and has enabled them, when our 10.7 clients connect to the server to ask for updates, they are not being offered this patch! ***?

This article seems to address the issue.http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4771I updated SL server plist and I&#x27;m in the process of updating the Lion client.Seems stupid that you have to change something on the Lion client.

I was in this situation, I nuked everything, the problem went away.  More updates, the problem returned. "Missing version string"  I think the Lion swupd_sync is messing up the catalogs when it merges them.  I&#x27;ve just blown away the catalogs and resynced and the problem is gone.  I&#x27;ve also turned off remove outdated updates as I suspect that&#x27;s the cause.  Will update if it goes again.  Oddly I still don&#x27;t get the Macbook Air 2010 Lion EFI update which is really what I want to come.  Perhaps I just need to update my Air again now that it isn&#x27;t erroring.
