I upgraded one of my iPads to IOS5 and think there are many excellent changes so far. I'm still exploring, but the first problem I've encountered is the Music app. It seesm extremely limited in functionaltiy compared wtih the previous iPod app (which I loved). Is there someway we could download the old iPod app from the App Store as an option? BTW, I like the look and feel of the new one, but it really has gone backward in function.

The Music App has ZERO FUNCTIONALITY and is a complete hindrance to a workflow that depends on the integration of different media files located within the same playlist! HORRIBLE! Currently searching for a 3rd party app to reinvent the wheel!!
I've complained (via feedback) twice about the new Music app and I am looking for a replacement also. The new app is (for me) basically unusable.
Music app on iPad iOS circa 5.0.1 is a big step back for functionality, and introduces many annoying bugs. I frequently struggle with smart playlists that have become dumb, playlists that don't match the playlist as displayed in iTunes, wondering what the ambiguous shuffle icon means (selected or not selected?), touch gestures getting trashed as the app thinks about it, and quitting the app process just to get out of a buggy state where nothing is displayed. I too was wondering the same thing: if I could just re-install the iPod app (as much as I disliked the name of that app).
Yes, I have sent a lot of feedback to Apple on each of these Music related issues.
I don't understand why there aren't more posts on this topic. Maybe non-iCloud users with iPads set to manually manage music aren't in favor.
