Safari "Accept cookies" setting keeps changing to "Never"

Having the same Safari cookies reset issue on my iPhone 4S. Just submitted a bug report. Thanks for the suggestion!

Done that. No help. The cookies thing seems to have mostly cleared up on its own despite no updates... but the show traffic thing randomly turning off is still ongoing.

This is the worst thing! So annoying.

I have also filed a bug report with Apple. Hopefully they fix this in iOS 5.1.

Watching carefully to see a correct response. I have an iPhone 4S with 5.0.1 for New Zealand. Really annoying that the Cookies setting keeps changing without warning!

It's not a 5.01 bug.

I had it with 5.0.

If I remember right, the first person to post in this forum had this issue back is 2010.

The bad, bad part is that this is only happening to a few people, and there seems to be no consistent reason why. And therefore Apple does not seem to have a response. So far, I have 2 people at customer support not following up as promised.

I've had this problem for several months, probably since Oct 2011. I have the 4S, up to date on software with no mods (i.e. not jail...). This is my third iPhone. I use exchange for my gmail account so that I can sync my email, contacts, and calendar. I sync the rest of my items to iCloud.

It has been reported that turning off iCloud Bookmarks may fix this issue. To do this; Tap Settings > iCloud and then tap the Bookmarks slider off.

"I don't have Bookmarks on," I thought to myself... But I did! So, it's off now and time will tell...

To be clear, I found that work around on another apple related site. I think if people relied on Apple Support nothing with ever get resolved. I won't say "fixed" because only Apple can truly fix these software glitches.

But, as noted above, not everyone having this problem has iCloud. Se report the problem before iCloud existed.

For me, I've never had bookmarks set to on.

Incidently, I was given a new phone at one point and set it up as new (did not restore from backup), had iCloud off completely, did not setup email and did not load any apps. Problem still happened.

Of course, Apple Support will get back to me after they discuss this with engineering. Even though months have passed since I've been told that, I have complete faith they have every intention of following up still (if only you could hear the sarcasm in my voice)

I wonder if this has anything to do with it: Google Ads messing with cookie settings and maybe our iOS devices react funny and shut off cookies?

Because it happens most often to me when I'm trying to log into gmail from Safari. With them messing with cookies, you possibly wouldn't have to have gmail to exhibit the problem...just a page with google ads.

Turning bookmarks off hasn't worked. Turning iPhone OFF seems to have some impact on it turning off the Cookies.
