where does siri get it's search results from?

I've asked Siri to find video production business in my city and state and it gives me 4 results. Where does siri get it's search results from? I thought it was from yelp.com but when I go there the results are totally different. I'd like to add my business so siri can find it but don't know where it's pulling the information. Does anybody know?

I am surprised after all this discussion, we still do not have an answer.

I don't think that's true at all about Siri using Google's results. My company is number 2 and 4 on an Android search for "Atlanta Web Design" but doesn't show up at all on Siri. My site is also number 2 on a regular Google search online. I saw the "reviews by Yelp" below, but these are definitely not Yelp results. Any insights from anyone as to where these are pulled would be appreciated.

Apple has it's own location based data system - the one that is used, for one thing, to power the find-my-iPhone service. They have also been rumored to be working on a real-time traffic & nav system (one of the bits of data they collect from your iPhone if you enable the "Traffic" feature in Location Services/System Services setting).

So for at least some of siri's location searches, they may be using entirely inhouse databases/services.

I am glad I found this thread... I started a new one here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3790450

Siri was serving up my company just a month ago. Any question like, "give me driving directions to Metalcloak", served it up fine (as I was showing off to friends).

But, just a couple days ago she started NOT finding my company. In fact Siri answers by saying she doesn't have an address for Metalcloak and it references my contact entry. I deleted the contact entry and she now can't find us at all.

How can this be? Did Apple change the parameters for search?

I am glad I found this as I am having the same problem with my company. And yes it looks like we still dont' have a solid answer as there are inconsistent search results. I too can go on bing or google and find my company no problem on the first page. (even on the local search section) Yet when I ask Siri the same thing I typed in she doesnt' come up with it.

Siri has some issues. hahaha

I had also read about Siri pulling info from yelp so I added my business to yelp. That was 3 months ago and I now show up. I think adding yourself to yelp is the way to get it to work. It just takes some time for it to update in Siri. I'm not sure on the exact time. We have since moved locations and it has our old address, I just edited the address today using the yelp app and it says it waited to be moderated so well see how long it takes for it to update.
