If you have your forum preferences set to be notified by email when someone posts in a thread you're following, you'll get email (not spam). That your BigPond email was compromised has nothing to do with iOS.

No one here is saying iOS is infallible, though.

As far as I know, there isn't one. A pc virus won't infect an iPad. Two different operating systems. No more than a pc .exe file can runon a Mac and a Mac .dmg file can run on a pc.

LIke you I too have a virus on my ipad. I was hacked through facebook now I have some sort of virus and it's closing my apps and even Safari when I open it. I'm checking the store for some help with this virus If I find anything or any other options I will let you know. I couldn't believe it apple ipad hacked! This was new to me.

It's probably a software glitch and not a virus.

No, you have an email account sending out Spam. Change your password for you email account.

Just because you have no clue how your iPad, iOS works and you experienced a problem does not mean your iPad was hacked or infected with a virus.

The only way you can get a virus on a iPad/iPhone is if it has been Jailbroken.
