When I do an installation of an application on my iPad 2, the application gets stuck in a waiting state and will not install. I am doing this from wifi and not 3G.
Anyone else having this issue? Have there been any work arounds or fixes?

Just tried the reset steps you posted with no luck. Thanks for the idea. I have also tried a normal power down and power up with no success.
Has this problem occured with only one app? Try another one (find a freebie) and see if the issue is associated with the app rather than with your iPad.
It is happening on updates and new apps. Seems like everyone. The only way I have been able to clear it is to have iTunes do the installs and updates. This becomes a problem when I'm at work or out and about. Heck, just sitting in bed and looking for new stuff to play with beco es frustrating.
I hate to say this but it appears that a visit to an Apple store is necessary. If one is not convenient, try the phone first - 800-275-2273.

I have just solved this issue by pausing two podcast downloads which have been stuck. For some reason those pdocast downloads got stuck and due to this i was not able to install new application . After pausing them the applications can be downloaded without problem.
That's it- it's because of the iTunes downloads!! It was downloading some music and podcasts and got stuck on one particular item
Apps are not installing on my iPad.
