Battlefield 3 is asking for new display drivers..

Battlefield 3 is asking for new displaydrivers on a half-2010 bought Mac 27".

I did all Bootcamp-updates I could find, but even while I'm manually installing the AMD-displaydriver, it refuses to update to the newest version.

Any help?

iMac, Windows 7

Go to amd and check for newer drivers for you graphic card

You will never be able to update drivers trhought the drivers setup you have to manually update the graphic driver in device manager in windows 7.

I belive there is a thread in the forum somewhere that describes in detail how to do it.

Update

And some said to unzip only, then use Device Manager to load the new driver.

Others, to uninstall the current drivers totally, Driver Sweeper 3.x / Device Manager / Programs

You aren't talking to Apple, do that through feedback. BC 4.x and the latest drivers, some have more luck than others depending. Most people though do not post enough detail or info for anyone here other than to buy Lion if only for Boot Camp Assistant Or buy a PC for gaming. You can throw in some nice graphics on top of Sandy Bridge 2500 series Intel.

Would just like to confirm that the driver link above also works for the ATI 5670 video card that came with my mid 2010 27' iMac (i3).

I tried installing the official 5670 driver from the ATI site (verion 11.10) and I got the error "not compatible with your operating system" (or similar worded error) - even though I had the appropriate Windows 7 64-bit version. I used the link above and instaled manaully through 'Device Manager' although the drivers are for a 6000 series card!

Now I can open BF3 without that error asking to upgrade to version 10.7+. I cant notice any considerable improvement in the FPS but I haven't tested thoroughly yet. No convinced that this is the best way to upgrade my 5670 but i certainly works.

Hope this helps the OP or anyone else trying up upgrade the ATI 5670 to a version later than 11.1.
