how do I export, print my playlist song names & artist names?

I want to be able to export the names of songs and artists from a long playlist I have create. I want to export it so that I can email this list of song names and artists.

there is a "export playlist" command under the file menu. When I export it and save it as a txt file, it is not something I can make sense of, nor could anyone I emailed it to make sense of it. it looks like this:

Name Artist Composer Album Grouping Genre Size Time Disc Number Disc Count Track Number Track Count Year Date Modified Date Added Bit Rate Sample Rate Volume Adjustment Kind Equalizer Comments Play Count Last Played My Rating Location
San Franciscan Nights The Animals History of British Rock, Vol 8 Rock 5108870 200 11/12/03 11:01 PM 2/23/03 9:02 PM 203 44100 MPEG audio file Jazz AudioCatalyst (Norm = 85%) l 16 12/23/05 9:22 PM 80 Cosmo HD:Users:mann:Music:iTunes:iTunes Music:The Animals:History of British Rock, Vol 8:San Franciscan Nights.mp3
The first cut is the deepest Rod Stewart Pop 3965563 247 7/24/04 12:30 PM 2/23/03 9:23 PM 128 44100 MPEG audio file 11 8/26/04 7:56 AM 60 Cosmo HD:Users:mann:Music:iTunes:iTunes Music:Rod Stewart:Unknown Album:The first cut is the deepest.mp3

WHEN I EXPORT IT AS XML, IT LOOKS LIKE THIS:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">

does anyone have a suggestion for what I can do to export my playlist so that it is readable?

I thought for sure I could fix that for you... but I have not the ANSWER yet.

I do think I have an acceptable work around....

Select the Playlist you want to send in email.
Select PRINT from the File menu (or press Command-P).
Select "Song Listing" as the option.
Then, instead of printing to paper, choose "Save As PDF".

At least you can write PDFs natively in OSX!

Now just email the PDF file.

This ones easy.

Select the top song in your playlist

Hit Command-A (for select ALL)

Hit Command-C

Open up a spreadsheet in Appleworks (or Excel probably works as well)

Select the top left cell

Hit Command-V

Arrange the cells as you wish. Alter width, blank unwanted cells, alter colours, Fonts, bold/italics etc.

Select all the cells, hit Command-C, open up your document in a word processor, and hit Command-V.

You might have to add carriage returns in Word, but in Appleworks, all fonts, colours and returns are kept from speadsheet to text page, and you just need to add tabs to format.
