4s signal searching

I am having a problem with my new iPhone 4s where it is constantly looking for a signal. I am on AT&T in NYC and had no such issues with my previous 4. It happens every 10-15 minutes where 3G and the phone signal cuts out and it says searching and then re-establishes the connection within 1 minute. Anyone else on AT&T ith this issue?

Mac mini, iOS 5

I ended up bringing the phone back. There are no Apple stores in Ireland so my provider had to send it to Apple. Am waiting to see what happens. I hope it's sorted soon.

I tried all of the above bar switching off cellular data.

In my opinion there is no point having an iphone if you can't go on line or check your mails... Might as well dig out my old Nokia 3210!

Also i can't use my old iphone 4 as i had changed provider and the old network wouldn't unlock it for me...

Ok I just found the root to my searching issues!!! I thought it was a little odd that after restoring or replacing my phone it always goes searching when my girlfriend sends me a picture message. The pictures never come through and finally today I decided to try something. I fully wiped clean and restored my phone through itunes, phone is working great, I send a picture message from her phone to mine, two other iphones and one tmobile phone because her carrier is tmobile. All three iphones never received the picture and went searching right away, the tmobile phone received the pic fine. Besides feeling bad I took out two of my friends phones there is apparently a cellular data glitch that causes the base band to fail. If you turn cellular data off when it searches the phone works fine, you just can't get email, pic messages, or any of that unless you are in a wifi spot. At least you can call and text until you get home and redownload it with itunes. Hope this saves some people from losing their minds and helps apple locate this glitch.

I am also facing similar problem. I have 4S and Airtel connection from India. I never got my connection working fine continuosuly for more than 10 minutes.

I get one of the following : "Searching", "No Service", "Invalid SIM", Connection shown but when i try to call, it goes to searching mode.I have the latest iOS and have a new SIM i took from Airtel.

I have tried all the above options but still no luck.

Any other work around? Is there going to be any software fix at all?

Thanks,

-Rajesh
