iCloud is trying to use an unknown email address

Hello,

I'm really hoping someone can help me with this problem since I haven't been able to find any answers online.

I updated my iPhone 4 to the new OS and then followed the instructions to activate iCloud. Everything went smoothly and I received a confirmation email saying that my email address was verified successfully.

On my iPhone, when I go to the iCloud settings, I get an error saying "Check your email at XXX@XXX.com for instructions to verify this account." The problem is that XXX@XXX.comis not and was never my email address. I don't know where that email address came from! 😕

Email address set up for my AppleID and iCloud is correct and the verification email was sent to my correct address. So why is it saying I need to check an unknown email address in order to verify my account?

This is really making my head hurt! 😢

If you have any ideas about how to resolve this, please reply. It's driving me crazy!

Thank you,

Jennifer
