IOS 5: Camera App Not Working On iPhone 4
I was able to update my iPhone 4 to IOS 5 successfully and had no issues with that process or any of the new functions associated. Howeverf, I did confirm that the Camera App is not functioning. Upon loading the app, the interface elements display, along with a closed shutter. However, the shutter never opens. I can slide from camera to video, as well as click on the photo box to jump to my camera roll. However, the shutter never opens.
Assumptions:
Camera App never had any issues with IOS 4
Things tried:
- Manually close Camera App and restart it (no effect - shutter never opens)
- Reboot iPhone (no effect - shutter never opens)
- Wipe phone, reinstall IOS 5, and transfer saved backup (no effect - shutter never opens)
- Wipe phone and start with clean install of IOS 5 as a "new phone" (no effect - shutter never opens)
I have seen some postings related to this for 4 and 4S models, but have not seen any document resolutions. I did, however, find some threads on Mac Rumers where Apple stores have replaced the phone (assuming it was on a new 4S) indicating a hardware issue (though I am not sure this is connected to my issue). My camera worked fine on IOS 4, no matter the application that used it.
