Remove Pin from google map iphone 4s
Is there any quick way to remove pins dropped on google maps.
I know there are workarounds described on You Tube videos.
It's not quite as straight forward as it is on the iPad.

I'm assuming these are pins you dropped? You should be able to tap the pin, tap the blue arrow and press Remove Pin near the bottom.

I would like to think it would be that easy, but the pin I was referring to, was red.
And yes it is that simple with the blue pin.
I apologize, but this is my first smart phone, and I'm less than a newbie.
Having used the iPad quite a bit, I would think the phone would be every bit as intuitive, but for me, it's not.
Clear your search bar in Maps
I used iPhone 3GS before, then when I use 4s now I got same problem with u. I tried to find solution on net, but I didn't find the useful one.now I knew how to delete red pin. After delete recent history, go to book mark, then edit, leave the current location only.. Yes it works
hit the pin and select delte
On iPhone 4s, put the same location for your starting and ending point. Now hit search, it will tell you that it cannot do that. Click Ok, all pins will be removed.
Thanks. It really help
I just got off a 30-minute phone call with Apple support and finally know how to delete map pins from the iPhone.
Last week, I used the AT&T store app to find locations near me. The app dropped 2 pins on the Google map of stores that were within 10 miles of me. I couldn't remove the pins. Tried finding the "remove pin" function--nothing. Tried clear--nothing. Tried routing so I could clear--nothing. Tried rebooting phone a couple of times--nothing. Called support.
After a long research session, the rep had me push home twice (which takes you to a screen which shows all the apps currently running in the background on your iPhone). We found the AT&T app and clicked the X to stop the app from running (does not delete the app; just stops it from running in the background). It cleared one of the pins. The other pin was active, as I had just tried getting directions there to try & trick it). Then I went back to "home home" and stopped the map app. Voila! Other pin gone!
So, basically, go to Home Home and delete the map app (& possibly any other app you used to drop the map pins).
I hope this answer helps anyone else who has gone a little crazy trying to delete those map pins. 😎
I have discovered that requesting directions to/from (i can't remember which) a persistent dropped pin from/to a place of a few space characters, the 4s (IOS 5.1.1) replies that it can't find a route and the offending pin disappears. Does this work for anyone else ?
Incidentally, when I Home Home, all I get is a horizontal icon scroll bar at the bottom of the screen with all my app icons - not terribly helpful !
Close: Enter a couple of spaces; hit search; dismiss the error response; then hit the X. That removed the pin. What a ridiculous workaround!!
Found this thread searching with the same problem in the latest non-Apple Google Maps for iOS. Red pin in a location that made no sense. Must have accidentally "dropped" it.
After much frustration the solution was to double click/tap the red pin. It disappeared.
