change my AppleID on the IPHONE 4s

Settings > Store.

Select the Apple ID at the bottom.

Select Sign Out.

Follow this by signing in to the Store with the correct Apple ID or iTunes account.

The wrong ID wasn't logged in by itself.

I have an issue changing Apple ID used on iPhone 4S, and it's quite clear there is some sort of glitch as several others have posted unanswered queries on the subject.

I set up a new Apple ID and it works fine on MBP and iMac. I set the new Apple ID on my iPhone 4S in Settings > Store, no problem.

However, if I want to update an app or buy an app in App Store on iPhone 4S, it still requests the password below my old Apple ID. Clearly the password for the new Apple ID doesn't work, and there appears to be no way of changing the Apple ID and password which is requested when I want to update apps or buy new apps on my iPhone 4S.

All 3rd party apps - all paid and free apps include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account that was used to download the apps. Apps downloaded with one iTunes account cannot be transferred to another iTunes account, and different iTunes accounts cannot me merged.

This should not prevent you from downloading a new app with your new iTunes account, but in order to download an app update for an app that was downloaded with your old iTunes account, you must use your old iTunes account and password.
