iCloud Contacts using special characters

I live in THAILAND and ENGLISH is my first language. I have set many of my contacts to use special characters to identify the tone of there names as they shound sound using THAI pronounciation. I use special characters such as "^", "+", "/", and "\" after names.

I use an iPhone 4 as my primary device. I also use an iPad 2 and a MacBook Air 2011. My iPhone 4 and iPad 2 are updated to iOS 5 and are using iCloud. My MacBook Air came with LION.

When I started using iCloud, all my contacts synced between my iPhone and iPad beautifully via iCloud. All special characters associated with each contact on my iPhone also synced to the iPad as expected except one, the "\" character. For example, a contact "Pook (\)" shown on my iPhone is now shown on my iPad as "Pook ()".

My problem is this. When I edited that contact and to put the special character into the name on my iPad as "Pook (\)", iCloud would change the contact on my iPhone back to "Pook ()". This phenomenon is also happening on my MacBook Air as well.

I then tried to delete the contact on my iPhone and it disappeared on my iPad as expected. When I re-input the contact back into my iPhone, the same phenomenon happened again; "Pook (\)" on my iPhone is showing as "Pook ()" on my iPad. I then deleted the contact again on my iPhone and proceeded to try to input the name instead into my iPad first and the same thing happeened, "Pook (\)" on my iPad showed up as "Pook()" on my iPhone.

I am still using my iPhone as my primary device and would like all my other devices to reflect the exact same data values.

Can APPLE or anyone help with this issue ??
