Problems printing my contacts from iCloud

Hi Everyone!

I want to print out a copy of all my contacts that are in my iCloud. When I select all and go to print (as a .pdf file) all I get is one page and it looks like the background of the home page when you sign in on iCloud. So I tried printing only one letter at a time, for example, only all the people in the "A" section. I got the same thing. When I tried to print out one single contact, it worked perfectly. I tried this in three different browsers (IE8, Chrome, and Safari) and got the same results with each. When I tried to access the cloud from Firefox it said that it wasn't compatible with the browser and I needed to update it to the latest version, which I did, but it still gave me the same message.

Does anyone know how I can get a printout of all of my contacts? I have had some problems syncing contacts due to me not quite understanding that I couldn't save my info to my desktop and also to the cloud. So everything got messed up and duplicated in Yahoo (where I was syncing my contacts originally), and on my phone and also in the cloud. I just went into my contacts in the cloud and fixed everything, but before I resync on my phone (I was at the Apple Store today and they told me what to do to sync my contacts properly and not only avoid more duplications, but that it would remove the duplicates from my phone. Before I do this, I would really like to have a backup of the contacts in the cloud just in case I mess something up, or something goes wrong.

If anyone can tell me how to print out my contacts from iCloud I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,

chellie 🙂

The problem I have with this is that all my contacts are in iCloud. They are synced to the Address Book on my MacPro so they show up there and this is OK for most purposes. However when I select particular contacts and try to print labels etc the selection is not transferred to the print dialogue. I suspect that this is a quirk of having the primary data in iCloud rather than on the Mac. Does anyone have any thoughts about how to fix this?

Congratulations. That is the way I would expect but for some reason it does not for me. The curious thing is that in the Address Book preferences I have two accounts showing - iCloud and On my Mac. De-selecting iCloud results in no entries showing up. Selecting On My Mac also shows no entries. I tjhought of exporting the IcLoud data and importing it to On My Mac but I am fearful that it would then sync and produce duplicate entries.

I have a PC, not a Mac, and all my contacts are now saved on the iCloud. I tried as someone mentioned, to only select certain contacts and try printing, but that didn't work either. If I try to print more than one at a time I get a black screen that prints out and no contacts. The only way I've gotten it to work is if I print out one contact at a time and I have way too many to do this. I also tried only selecting a few with full addresses and phone numbers in them and I still got the black screen. I don't have anything backed up to an Address Book, this may be a feature on the Mac. I was told at the Apple Store that I can only save conacts to the cloud or my desktop, not both. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks! 🙂

I am a PC user, and have just printed all my contacts on iCloud by signing into iCloud, clicking on the contacts icon, and selecting ALL the contacts by pressing Ctrl+A (which will highlight them all blue when selected) then pressing the little "sun" looking icon on the bottom left corner, select PRINT, and that should work! That's how I did it. Hope that helps! 🙂

I forgot all about this question until I received an email today about it! I had also been having problems with Photo Stream in iCloud and found out that if I changed browsers and used Google Chrome, for whatever reason, Photo Stream worked. 🙂

So when I got the email tonight about E Rom's response, I went and looked at it and that's when I remembered about using Google Chrome whenever I signed in on iCloud. So I tried it tonight and it works perfectly using that browser. Weird, but at least it's working now! lil\'bot, that's exactly what I had been doing, but in Internet Explorer and it wasn't working at all. 😟

I'm just glad it's finally working! Thanks for everyone's ideas and help!! I appreciate it! 🙂

I had the same problem. Each year it takes me ages using word mail merge from outlook. This year I could just not do it as my contacts on icloud.

In the end I found this useful solution to make labels from my iPhone contact list. As I do not have an air printer, I emailed the PDF file to my PC and printed from there. Very quick and easy.

This Avery app might help
