How do i authorize a device (tv or projector) to play protected movies purchsed in itunes when connected to my ipad? I am receiving an error message: "CANNOT PLAY MOVIE the connected display is not authorized to play protected movies". I purchased the movies in iTunes and simply want to watch them on my TV or projector when connected to my iPad.

Even thought this is an old post I just purchased a HDMI adapter for my iPad 3. This is the stupidest thing I ever head of. If I purchase on my iPad I why would Apple care what device I connect to. I wanted to play a rented move on my Samsung 69" TV and get the above error. What a pain in the ***.
PPlease let me know if you ever figured this out. I purchased the ios to hdmi cable which allows me to use my tv monitor as a screen for iPad, but it won't let me watch iTunes movies
