This ipod was found a long time ago and has gone through a bunch of ppl tryin to unlock it and now my friend just gave it to me so I really dont find in neccesary to try to trace down the first person that found it. Then go to the police and hope it will be picked up because chances are it won't. Its also even more difficult to go where ever this was first found because I'm 14 lol, but anyways I found out how to unlock. I would have reported it I first found it, but now its like finding a 20 dollar bill on the ground and trying to give it back to its owner, its not that easy to find that person.

I found a way to unlock it. I just had to unplug the usb cable that was connected to the ipod. Next I turned off the ipod. Then I plugged back the usb into the ipod and at the same time I held in the home button on the bottom and the ipod appeared in itunes and it didn't display the message that said I needed to put the passcode in the ipod to use it. Finally you just have to restore the ipod and its good to go.

well..

I once found a iphone 3G which I could have easily unlock/jailbreak/restore , but I gave it to the police. The owner has never been found, and it seems that it is still at the police. After one year I could have bid in public auctions to have it, but then again I decided it is not worth it as it was in bad condition and not worth much to me. Somebody might have bought it, maybe it is still there, maybe it is in the trash. But the original owner had his chance after all.

But alas. Every country and individual has different treatments how to deal with that.
